    • The marriage occurred after they had lived together for some 16 or so years and had 6 children, likely via some form of legitimate arrangement recognized by the church. The first son, Pierre, was the only child identified as illegitimate (parents "unknown" to the church) in his baptism record, yet both parents' names appear in his burial record the following year. All the other children were baptized as they were born, as children of the legitimate marriage of both Pierre & Catherine.
