  • Notes
    • An undated letter from Josephine to her elder sister Mary (Henry Mousseau) indicates that she visited them in Michigan somewhere in the 1905-1908 timeframe. Details of the visit and who made the trip with her are not known. Another letter written in April 1909, also to Mary, dealt mainly with the jobs and locations where her husband, Georges, & their sons were working, and the wages they earned. Interestingly, there was little or no personal information nor any news of her daughters who were, for the most part, still at home. (These two letters addressed "Chère soeur" form part of the evidence that Mary was, in fact, a member of this family instead of the family she was raised by -- see notes for Marie Larivière).
