    • The parish of St-Pierre de Fort Coulonge did not begin recording church acts until 1 Jan 1884. Prior to that, a mission (St-Antoine-de-Padoue) did exist in the village and some acts were performed there, but the register was maintained in La Passe, across the river in Renfrew County, Ontario. There is nothing in the marriage record to indicate why it was occurring 3 years after the birth of their daughter; however, there were no banns read, so no opportunity for any objections. For a brief period somewhere after 1885, the family moved to the U.S., returning in 1892.
