- Lancaster-Ruth Ann (Allard) Kelly, 66, of Mashpee, formerly of Bolton & Lancaster, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in her residence after a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Timothy J. Kelly, who died in 2013, and her father, Elmer Allard.
She is survived by her son, Derek J. Kelly of Lancaster; 2 granddaughters Madison Kelly of Lancaster; and Alexis Lanciani of Sterling; her mother, Lucy Allard, brother, Alfred Allard, both of Inverness, FL; sister, Dottie Johnson of Barre; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Ruth was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury. She graduated from Atlantic Union College in Lancaster and began employment as a secretary for the Ingersoll-Rand Company before establishing her own business. Ruth successfully owned and operated Artistic Hair Design in Bolton for many years before ultimately retiring to her home in Mashpee on Cape Cod. She devoted time to religious studies and was an accomplished painter and photographer. Ruth most cherished time spent in the company of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Eastwood Cemetery, Old Common Rd., Lancaster, under the direction of the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Kelly to: Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, MA 01602.
