    • Margaret Louise Gardner, 80, longtime music teacher and accomplished musician, died Tuesday morning in a local health care center.
      She was born Aug. 3, 1906 in Osage, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William and Matilda Dundore Allard.
      When she was three months of age, she came to the United States, as her parents move to Iowa, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and finally, in 1969, her family homesteaded in Arbon Valley.
      She grew up and attended the elementary school mainly in Arbon, and attended one year in Boise, while her father served in the Legislature. She graduated from high school in Pocatello in 1925.
      She graduated from the Adelaide Anderson School of Music, earning a bachelor of music degree in June 1930. On Aug. 4, 1928, she was awarded a teacher's certificate after completing prescribed training at the Chicago Musical College.
      She had been a member of the Pocatello Music Club, Idaho Music Teachers of America, Music Teachers National Association, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Idaho State Civic Symphony. She had been a teacher of piano and organ for many years in Pocatello and neighboring communities. She was an associate teacher of the Sherwood Music School of Chicago.
      She was married to James Carson Gardner on Aug. 4, 1935. He was a band director for 27 years at Idaho Southern University, retired in 1951, and died on Jan. 1, 1969.
      She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where she had served as church organist.
      Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Allard Nuckols, Pocatello; a niece, Linda Nuckols King, Denver; two nephews, Daniel Nuckols, Idaho Falls, and David Nuckols, Pocatello; and five grandnieces and grandnephews. Four brothers preceded her in death.
      Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Paul T. Riensche officiating. Friends may call at the Henderson Funeral Home, 431 N.15«sup»th«/sup», prior to services, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 7 - 9 p.m. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Mountainview Cemetery.
      Memorials in memory of Mrs. Gardner may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or to a charity of the donor's choice.
